players need apply. VVC's Women's basketball team is looking
for a few good players. The introduction to intercollegiate
basketball
class convenes Mon. - Thurs. (5:00pm to 6:30pm). Contact Coach

Coach
Tomlin's Bio:
Coach Lana Tomlin was recently named Victor Valley College's
Head Women's Basketball Coach. Coach Tomlin started her coaching
career some 18 years ago at Covina High School where she coached
both volleyball and basketball. She took a break from coaching
to start a family and pursue a career with the San Bernardino
County Sheriffs Department. Tomlin, currently a sergeant with
the Sheriff's Department, has been married for 18 years and
has 2 children. Coach Tomlin's most recent coaching experience was at Victor Valley
Christian School. She spent a total of 4 years there, the last
two of which as head coach. Under Tomlin's helm, the Lady Royals
went undefeated in league play, earning back to back Agape League
Championships. Tomlin's teams found success in CIFSS play-off action,
making it to the semi and quarter finals in respective seasons.
As head coach at Victor Valley Christian, Tomlin's record was an
impressive 40-11.
Although this is Coach Tomlin's inaugural season at VVC, her roots
here are strong. In 1996, Tomlin earned her Associates Degree in
Administration of Justice from VVC. Coach Tomlin is excited about
her new position and has great expectations of what lies ahead.
She hopes to build a strong women's basketball program at VVC with
a winning tradition and reputation for positioning students athletes
for the next stage of play, the university.
