Dave
Hoover is finishing his fourth seasons as the football coach of
Victor Valley College. His Ram teams have shown steady
improvement throughout his tenure, capped off this season with
the best league
record in school history, as well as the first bowl bid in
school history. Victor Valley College is now considered
one of the "elite programs" in junior college football. Coach
Hoover brings over two decades of successful coaching experience
from the high school level to Division 1A college football. He
has traveled across the country and back in his football career,
but has called Victor Valley his home. His winning
tradition and tireless work ethic has helped put Victor Valley
among the state's best.
Highlights
from Coach Hoover's career include two Metro League Championships
while at Pasadena City College, a PCAA and California Bowl Championship
while at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and a National Championship
while at the University of Massachusetts.
Coach
Hoover has also been a part of rebuilding troubled programs before. The
staffs he has been on helped turn around UNLV, Easter Michigan,
and Long Beach State into winning programs. Dave also
had the opportunity to work for the legendary George Allen while
at Long Beach State, which he considers one of this greatest
learning experiences.
Dave
Hoover earned his B.A. in English Literature form Cal State Los
Angeles in 1980, and earned a Masters of Science in Education
from Asuza Pacific University.
