Coach Christa White graduated from Texas Tech University in 1983 and was a Division I Volleyball Scholarship Athlete with two All-Southwest Conference First Team Selection Honors. She has an overall combined high school and college coaching record of 356-147 with 4 High School League Championships and 6 College Conference Championships. She is a United States Volleyball Association Level II Certified Coach and coached 5 years with Higher Power Volleyball Club coaching 14-18's teams with a top 40 finish in the 18's and 14's at the Sacramento Volleyball Festival as well as a divisional championship in the 16's division. She was the owner and director of the White Lightning Volleyball Club from 2001-2008 and had her 18’s team in 2005 finish 29th in the Reno Festival. Last year at VVC she led the Rams to their 6th Conference title in 15 years with an overall record of 19-3 and a 12-0 record in the Foothill Conference. She is a 6 time Coach of the Year recipient. (1997, 98, 99, 2001, 2003, 2005) Her collegiate coaching record is 215-95, making her the most successful coach in VVC history men or women’s sports. Coach White has served as the President for the CCCWVCA and currently serves as the President of the Victor Valley/Barstow Volleyball Officials Association and is a C-1* rated CIF volleyball official.
Casie Brooks is in her 2nd year as the Assistant Coach for the Rams. She attended Victor Valley High School and was the starting setter there on the White Lightning Volleyball team that finished 29th in Reno in 2005. She received an athletic scholarship to St. John’s University in New York where she was the starting setter her freshman season and the starting opposite for the next 3 years. Her sophomore and junior seasons, St. John’s competed in the NCAA National Championship tournament where they finished in the “Sweet 16” in 2007 and were Conference Champions in 2007 and 2008. Her coach, Joanne Persico called Casie the “X Factor” on the team with her leadership and drive for success. Casie has been coaching club teams and doing player development for the past 2 years and is gaining the experience needed to apply for a coaching position with a University in the future.
