Commencement Information | Graduation 2019
THE GRADUATION CEREMONY will be held Friday, June 7 at 4:00 pm at the Glen Helen Amphitheater. Graduates will gather at the pavilion inside the venue in preparation to line up and march into the amphitheater. Graduates must arrive by 1:45 pm for the ceremony. Graduation kickoff begins May 1st with the Grad Fair. Grads could sign up for graduation, pick up their tickets, purchase regalia and order announcements beginning May 1 and any day afterward until 2:00pm on May 31st (deadline).
CAPS AND GOWNS may be purchased beginning May 1, 2019 in the RAMS Bookstore. The Bookstore hours are Monday/Tuesday : 8:00 am - 7:00 pm; Wednesday/Thursday : 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; and Friday : 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. The Grad Fair will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on May 1 and May 2. Caps and gowns could be purchased up to 2:00 pm at the RAMS Bookstore on Friday, May 31. The purchase price for the student regalia package is $79.99, however, if you purchase it during the Grad Fair, you will receive a 10% discount. The regalia package consists of (10) personalized graduation announcement, cap, gown, tassel and hood.
ADDITIONAL GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS priced beginning at $20.00, can be purchased beginning May 1 at the Grad Fair.
TICKETS are free and will accommodate all of your guests. A photo ID is required to pick up guest tickets. All attendees, including infants/small children, are required to have a ticket to be admitted into the venue (no exceptions). Relatives and loved ones are also able to view the ceremony live online here. For further information, call (760) 242-4271, ext. 2495.
HONOR CORDS could be worn at commencement only by students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better, based on completion of degree requirements for August 2018 and December 2018 graduates. June 2019 graduate honors were based on degree requirements completed through Fall 2018. Honor cords could be purchased at the RAMS Bookstore.
DIPLOMAS - Graduates will be notified when their degrees are available for pickup. Please be sure Admissions & Records has been informed of correct mailing and emailing addresses. Additionally, any library or financial holds must be cleared.
CERTIFICATES are mailed on an ongoing basis as requirements are completed.
GRADUATES AND GUESTS WITH DISABILITIES - Guests with disabilities should plan to arrive 60 minutes prior to the 4:00 p.m. ceremony for appropriate accommodations. You are allowed one (1) attendant if necessary. Graduates: If you need accommodation for a disability, we ask that you notify us by May 10. Interpreting services will be available for the deaf and hearing impaired. Parking for disabled is located through Gate 1 .
