| Why
do we need a Friends of the Victory Valley
College Library?
Although
the Victory Valley College Library is part
of a public-supported institution, tax dollars
are
no longer adequate to provide necessary resources
for a top-quality library. Community participation
in the form of private support from individuals
and businesses is crucial.
The
Friends group allows individuals in the community
to help provide materials, services, and programs
above and beyond those provided by the State,
ones that enrich and expand the library program. What
are the "Friends" for? The
Friends of the Victory Valley College Library
has been established:
-
To
build a unified group of supporters who value
the importance of the library to the college
and to the community.
- To
promote academic enrichment of the library's
resources through gifts of needed
library materials and monetary contributions.
- To
increase public awareness of the
resources and services of the VVC
Library.
- To
sponsor cultural events such as
exhibits, lectures and other programs.
Why
should you be a Friend?
-
You
can help maintain and strengthen
a crucial academic resource - our
college library.
- Your
contribution will allow you to borrow
materials from the library.
- You
will interact with some very special
people and have an opportunity to be
involved in library activities.
