ASB Vocational Technology Senator - Candice Newman
Hello all! My name is Candice Newman and I will be fulfilling the role of the Vocational Technology Senator for the 2008-2009 school year. This is my first year holding a position on Victor Valley College's Associated Student Body. I will take this opportunity very seriously and complete the tasks handed to me at the best of my ability. Holding this position entails becoming somewhat of a medium for all students involved in the vocational technology programs at VVC. To do this properly I will be meeting with the department chairs monthly to discuss any concerns or questions these students have. I will also do my best to communicate with the students involved in my department. Basically, my job is to serve you. If anyone has any questions or concerns I want them to be aware they can come to me, and I will do my best to answer or find the answer for you.
Now, a little bit about me. I am nineteen years old and a 2007 graduate of Sultana High School. I have been attending Victor Valley College for about a year now. As of today I plan on majoring in psychology to help me achieve my career goal of becoming a high school counselor. I currently live in Hesperia, and work for the county taking care of those in need. After VVC I plan on attending a four year university up north. I love any and all community service activities promoting a better tomorrow, whether it be environmental awareness or voter registration drives.
I believe our ASB team this year can really help to make this college better with the help and input of the students. I can't wait to look back at the end of the year and see everything we have accomplished. I know we are ready for change, and change is here.
