Executive Senator to the ASB - Roderick Allen Gray, Jr.
My name is Roderick Gray, and I was the Head Delegate on the Victor Valley College 2008 NMUN team (link provided at left). I am a Communication Studies Major (visit site) with double minor in English (visit site) and History (visit site). Currently I am the 2008-09 Executive Senator to the ASB, and I was active in community campaigning for the very important Bond Measure JJ (visit site) that was on the November 2008 General Election ballot. This Bond Measure provides the potential for our college to expand into our community making career development paths accessible to many of our area residents.
I have also written several news articles for our school's newspaper "The RamPage" (visit site) over the last year, and I have done a number of volunteer events, one such event was Make a Difference Day 2006 with Habitat for Humanity. That event opened another door for me with Habitat. I was asked to be on the fund raising committee for the Homes for the Holidays 2006 donation drive, and this year I was asked by the President of the Hesperia Hispanic Chamber of
commerce to co-chair the 2009 Cinco De Mayo planning committee. I am filled with gratitude being asked to be a member of the 2009 NMUN volunteer team. I am familiar with the functions and duties that Conference Services provides to the delegates at the convention. I also submitted a recommendation to last year̓s Conference Services staff, it was a small suggestion, and it contributed a little efficiency to the customer service process.I am a people person and a natural at finding solutions to everyday circumstances.
