Job Description: Provide clerical support to the District Administrative Services Section, Community Risk Reduction Division, Fleet Services Section, and/or Finance Section. Type reports from a variety of sources; assists in daily activities and operations of the department where assigned by completing a variety of clerical tasks to include recording data, generating reports and invoices; and performing related work as required.
Qualifications: Basic clerical experience. Typing speed of 35-40 wpm corrected. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Victor Valley Transit Authority (VOLUNTEER)
Transit Ambassador Intern
Job Description: Assist passengers with reading and understanding transit schedules and trip planning. Help transit riders get comfortable and familiar using Victor Valley Transit Authority fixed route services.
Qualifications: Volunteer should be friendly, patient, reliable, and have a desire to help people. Volunteer must also be an experienced user of the VVTA fixed route bus system and bilingual a plus! Must be able to volunteer 6-12 hours per week.
Public Information Intern
Job Description: Under the supervision and training of designated staff the volunteer will use a computer and related software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, & other programs) to prepare, proofread, generate copies of, and send and maintain necessary files. Assist with gathering information on the situations such as road closures, lane restrictions, detours, new highway openings, and road maintenance activities. Perform miscellaneous duties to facilitate the operational efficiency of the work unit (e.g., maintains accurate records, organizes material & compiles information to assist in report preparation). Research, compile, and present information for use in the preparation and production of communications products/services for external audiences and internal staff oriented materials.
Qualifications: Volunteer should have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism. Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media.
Contract Management Intern
Job Description: Document justifications and outcomes of procurement activity. Assist in collecting and entering data on grant activity for related reports. Assist in purchase order and contract processing. Coordinate inventory tracking, record keeping, and paperwork processing. Provide special project support as needed and assist with other administrative, procurement, and grant compliance duties as assigned. Maintain/use a contract management system and SharePoint. Assist in gathering, validation, and organization of contractual data. Assist with contract closeouts, issuing and tracking various data call requests for contractual documentation, and assist with preparing a complete contract file and tracking outstanding requests.
Qualifications: Volunteer should have the ability to process information needed to make sound business recommendations for management decisions. Applicants need to have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor, and possess effective time management, and organizational skills. Applicant should also have the ability to work with others in order to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Graphic Designer Intern
Job Description: Learn about the graphics marketing process by assisting with designing digital content for online advertising and social channels such as Facebook, as well as other internship duties as assigned. Participate in creation of new strategic concepts for packaging and merchandising designs to brand guidelines (including mock ups, preparation of files, etc.).
Qualifications: Volunteer must possess strong time management skills, along with the ability to keep up with changing task prioritization in a fast-paced team environment. Applicant must have a willingness to work as part of a team and take creative direction from superiors and constructive criticism from other team members along with an excellent attention to detail and superior communication skills.
