AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN INTERN (UNPAID)

Internships Available:  Varies

Hours Per Week: 6-15

Job Description:  Dismount, repair, remount and balance automotive radial tires.  Complete an automotive B service inspection.  Obtain knowledge of paperless shop and track; labor, time, and materials.  Inventory assigned tool box and maintain for the semester.  Obtain knowledge of all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean organized work environment.

Qualifications:  High school diploma/GED and enroll in a VVC Cooperative Education course (AUTO 138) for 1.0-4.0 units.

communications & public relations intern (unpaid)

Internships Available:  1

Hours Per Week:  10-20

Job Description:  Perform specialized tasks in the Community Relations and Education department.  Participate and acquire knowledge in the District's Community and Education functions, and prepare a mid-program progress and final presentation summarizing their activities with the District during their internship.

Minimum Qualifications:  Enrolled in an accredited college or university (proof of enrollment), have not participated in the District's internship program in past years, majoring in communications or public relations, fluent in both written and spoken English, over GPA of 2.75 or higher, legal proof of legal right to work in the United States, reference checks, background/criminal check, and able to work 20 hours a week.

Hours Per Week:  4-15 

Job Description:  Attend and/or table at community events.  Work with Hesperia 2034 committees.  Represent the Chamber at non-profit and civic outreach meetings.  Meet with local leaders and work with CEO Brad Letner.

Minimum Qualifications:  A strong desire to make a positive difference in the Victor Valley region, excellent communication skills, and professionalism.

Job Description:  Design/and or refine the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce marketing plan.  Create marketing materials.  Build/maintain strong social media presence.  Define the communication plan.  

Minimum Qualifications:  Completed or currently enrolled in at least one business, marketing, or communications related course, basic computer skills, and familiarity with MS Office suite.
