Student Support Services provides academic support and educational services for those who are low income and/or first generation college students.  The program is aimed at providing additional support for academic needs through continuity in areas of counseling, tutoring, academic courses, educational and personal workshops, and access to computers.  The Learning Center is the host of the English and Math components of this program.

The English component uses Skills Bank 4 software which is described in detail under the English Program heading.

The Math component uses Summit Math CD-ROM which is an interactive multimedia program that teaches beginning algebra, using video, animation, audio, graphics, and text.  In the various parts of the program you will see demonstrations, engage in an interactive dialog with your computer, solve real-world problems, practice what you have learned, and demonstrate your proficiency by taking quizzes.  Summit is a complete course in beginning algebra.
