ABOUT Phi Theta Kappa Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society specifically for 2 year colleges.  Alpha Phi Gamma, the Victor Valley College chapter, was chartered in February 1992 and has enjoyed a steady growth of membership.  As an honor society, Phi Theta Kappa encourages academic scholarship by providing an opportunity to develop leadership skills.  Phi Theta Kappa members graduate wearing a special honor society stole at commencement exercises and have their transcripts marked with the Phi Theta Kappa seal.  Phi Theta Kappa  membership is by invitation only to those who qualify.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS To join the Alpha Phi Gamma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a student must have a 3.5 GPA or better, have 12 transferable units and pay a one-time, lifetime membership fee of $65.00.

HOW TO FIND Phi Theta Kappa Membership inquiries can be directed to the Phi Theta Kappa Telephone Hotline at extension 2475.  Interested students can also come to a Phi Theta Kappa meeting.  The Advisor position is currently vacant. For information on the VVC Honors Program, visit their website now. The dates and times of the meetings are on the Hotline and on Phi Theta Kappa informational flyers throughout the VVC campus.

THE OFFICE OF CHAPTER PRESIDENT The president presides over all meetings, appoints chairpersons for committees and gives the oath of office to others on the Board. 

THE OFFICE OF FIVE STAR ACHIEVEMENT VICE-PRESIDENT  The 5 Star Achievement vice-president is our compliance officer and makes sure Chapter accomplishments are reported to Phi Theta Kappa headquarters.

THE OFFICE OF MEMBERSHIP VICE-PRESIDENT The vice-president of Membership maintains the membership rooster and the mailing list.  The Membership VP  assists with elections and inductions.  The Membership Office is responsible for making sure that the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society stamp is placed on all graduating members transcripts, certificates and diplomas. 

THE OFFICE OF SERVICE VICE-PRESIDENT The vice-president of Service takes roll call at regular Phi Theta Kappa meetings and automatically heads any committee doing a service project.  The service VP also assists in the preparation of the annual report to headquarters especially in the service area.

THE OFFICE OF HONORS VICE-PRESIDENT The vice-president of Honors coordinates all Honors Topic information and implements any activity pertaining to the topic chose for the academic year.  This years topic is the Pursuit of Happiness.

THE OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS VICE-PRESIDENT The Communications vice-president keeps the records of chapter functions and is responsible for drafting press releases, bulletins and the newsletter. 

THE OFFICE OF HISTORIAN - The historian coordinates and documents records and event and produces the PTK newsletter.  

THE OFFICE OF FINANCE- The Vice President of finance is responsible for all financial transactions, banking, and record keeping.
