PTK President - Music Vernola
My name is Music Vernola and as well as being a student here at VVC I have been a Realtor® in the High Desert for the last 6 years. I started attending VVC last year to work toward a Nursing Degree and have carried a 4.0 GPA throughout my time here. I hope to use my future Nursing Degree not only in the professional realm, but in volunteer work as well.
I am the current President of the Alpha Phi Gamma Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa and the Inner Club Council Senator for the Associated Student Body. I am excited to be a part of the Phi Theta Kappa events that are planned throughout this next year which include fighting literacy, working with children in our garden project, holding a Thanksgiving food drive, collecting needed items for our troops overseas and raising money for cancer research. I’m proud to be a part of an organization that not only honors academic excellence, but also promotes leadership and giving back to others, all of which are aspects of great importance in my everyday life.

PTK Vice President - Danielle Davies
Hello, my name is Danielle Davies. I was born and raised in Hacienda Heights and Norwalk CA, the youngest of 9 children. I’m married with two boys, ages 12 and 6. I live in Apple Valley CA and work full time at a Real Estate company in Hesperia. I came back to college in 2008 after a 15 year absence to finally obtain my degree. I’m currently seeking an Associates in Science degree in Business Administration and have already obtained my Business Management Certificate. After graduation this Fall I plan to transfer to the University of La Verne Victorville Campus to enter into their Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management degree program.
PTK Treasurer - Sarah Milburn
My name is Sarah Milburn. I began attending VVC in fall 2008 to work on my associates in Nursing. In addition to being a full time student, I work at a local church running the Children’s Ministry and am looking forward to transferring in the spring. In the mean time, I currently hold the position of Treasurer within Phi Theta Kappa. I’m excited to be involved with an organization that values academic excellence and promotes leadership and community service.

PTK Public Relations Coordinator - Chere Smith
Hello, my name is Chere’ Smith and I am 21 years old. I have been attending VVC since summer of 2006. I am working on obtaining my A.A. in Liberal Arts and my A.S. in Math/Science. I tutor English, history, and math. My interests are just about anything I am learning about at the time, but I have narrowed down my field of study to English, as I want to be an English teacher at the Junior College level. I intend to transfer to Cal-State San Bernardino University in the spring of 2010.
I love Phi Theta Kappa because it rewards good work, service, education and bringing our society together. I am now the membership coordinator for our chapter. I hope to get more people involved in the activities of promoting scholarship, service, fellowship, and leadership, our four cornerstones to being successful as educated people.
