PTK President - Monica Cabingatan
Hello!
My name is Monica Cabingatan and I am currently the Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Phi Gamma Chapter President. I moved to America 3 years ago from the Philippines where I grew up and spent my 14 years of life. Being involved with my community did not just help me adjust, but it helped me learn the essence of education, which is produced by hard work. I've been going to VVC for about 2 years and for the next year, I will be completing the classes I need to transfer to a 4-yr university and get a BS in Biomedical Engineering. I will use my degree not just for my own benefit but I will also do volunteer work as well. I am glad to be a part of Phi Theta Kappa that promotes leadership, academic excellence, and for the good of the community. If you have any questions and or comments, feel free to shoot me up with an email at monica.cabingatan@yahoo.com. ^_^
PTK Vice President - Nathan Aronson
Hi there! I’m Nathan Aronson, the VP for Phi Theta Kappa here at VVC . Biochemistry’s my major, and I hope to eventually go into toxicology/anesthesiology. On my spare time, I’m a voracious reader, and I also enjoy playing piano and guitar. I’ve been at VVC for about a year now, and I hope to transfer to a four year university soon.
PTK Treasurer - Cassandra Walters
Hi my name is Cassandra Walters and I am your current Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Phi Gamma Chapter Treasurer. I have been attending VVC since the fall of 2008; my major is in Agriculture with my focus on GIS (Geographical Information Systems). I plan to eventually transfer to the university level. I am so proud to be a part of PTK and I look forward to a rewarding year with everyone. I am most excited to be a part of PTK who helps with community projects and events.
PTK Inter-Club Council Representative/Membership Coordinator - Paul Elston
After having a very successful career in the Food & Beverage and Hospitality industry, I decided to come back to college after 28 long years and achieve my dream of attaining my degree. Most of my inspiration comes from my wife Irene and my three daughters Jomayra 22, Ashley 18 and Kaitlyn who is 9, which all urged me to pursue my dream. Well I am glad I listened because coming here to V.V.C. has opened a new chapter in my life and one that I look forward to each and every day. I have been given the honor of being a part of the Phi Theta Kappa team and look ahead to the upcoming school year working towards making V.V.C. a better experience for all of the students.
PTK Secretary - Lana Litvin
Hello there! My name is Lana Litvin and I love life =). I am the current secretary of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. I have been attending Victor Valley College since my junior year of high school but became a full time student in 2008. Presently, I am working on taking classes to transfer to a University. I'm blessed with many opportunities including being part of Phi Theta Kappa. Phi Theta Kappa is a bridge to serve and give back to the community and I am looking forward to what I can bring to it.
PTK Public Relations Officer - Christopher Dustin
My name Christopher Dustin, I have been a student of Victor Valley college since the spring of 2008. I came back to school to further my education given the state of the economy. I see no better time to work on myself than right now, making myself a competitive force to be reckoned with when the economy rebounds again. I started off as an Inter-Club Council Representative for Ready Rams Club, an active club on our campus. Then I progressed and became the Inter-Club Council Senator for the Associated Student Body of Victor Valley College, a position that I ran for and was elected to in May 2010. I am currently still fulfilling my duties and obligations in that position. I joined Phi Theta Kappa in 2010 and became the Public Relations officer. In my position, I give 110% of myself by fulfilling my duties as an officer in Phi Theta Kappa. I understand that there are no I in team and plan to work with my fellow officers to help promote and publicize the organization. I am truly excited and enthusiastic about the upcoming events that we have planned as a group for the upcoming year. I plan to do my part and then some to help make it happen!
PTK 5-Star Coordinator - Jessica LaCombe
My name is Jessica LaCombe and I am your Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Phi Gamma Chapter 5-Star Coordinator. I graduated high school early and began working. When I realized I still had too much free time on my hands I decided to register for college courses for the enjoyment; at that time I had no intention on graduating. After attending quite a bit of classes I decided to join the U.S. Army Reserves. Once my initial training was complete I began working a full-time job and decided to go back to school. Not much later did I realize I only had a few classes to complete before graduating. Needless to say I walked as a Phi Theta Kappan and decided to become an active member of the honor society. I am currently still working full time and taking courses at VVC to earn towards my bachelor’s degree. I would advise anyone to take college courses even if the classes don’t apply to your major.
