Victor Valley College, seeks
a second-year Research Grant Renewal as an FSS Planning Grant to institutionalize
Transdisciplinary Curriculum in Art, Drama, Economics, History, Mathematics,
Music, Science, Spanish and Technology courses. The purpose of the
research is as follows:
- To plan and institutionalize
the use of Transdisciplanary Curriculum instructional delivery
to facilitate comprehensive awareness in students.
- To investigate and
compare the learning outcomes of 200 students enrolled in Transdisciplanary
Curriculum instructional courses with those enrolled in traditional
classroom instruction.
Objectives will focus on
increased student success, faculty training and institutionalize Transdiciplinary
Curriculum: (1) The Transdiciplinary Group will incorporate student
success practices into the Educational Master Planning process. (2)
70% of the 200 students will increase their learning through the interconnectiveness
of the eight disciplines. (3) Analyze the Transdisciplinary local
data with the statewide core measures. (4) 80% of the 15 faculty will
complete the Transdiciplinary workshop. (5) The Transdisciplinary/Arc
Project will serve as a prototype and fund a Transdisciplinary Curriculum
Arc for the Vocational Programs: Welding, Automotive, and Construction
Technology.
Formative and summative
evaluation will be tied to the project objectives. We plan to enroll
200 students and expect course completion by 80% of students that
engage in Transdiciplinary Curriculum.
