In order to
reduce vehicle miles traveled, and to reduce vehicle trips from
the Victor Valley area to California State University, San Bernardino,
Victor Valley College, in collaboration with California State University,
San Bernardino, proposes to provide a Video Teleconferencing Center
that will offer compressed video classes from California State University
at Victor Valley College. The objectives will focus on the following:
1. Reduce vehicle
trips and reduce vehicle miles traveled from the Victor Valley area
to California State University, San Bernardino through the implementation
of a Video Teleconferencing Center offering compressed video classes
from California State University, San Bernardino at Victor Valley
College.
2. Build a
Victor Valley College high school video teleconferencing network
to link with area high schools which includes Apple Valley High
School, Victory Valley High School, Hesperia High School and Lucerne
Valley High School to significant trip reductions for juniors and
seniors from the high schools to the campus as well as enhancing
high school curriculum.
3. Provide compressed
video capacity to link with planned Westside Extension of Victor
Valley College which will be operative in January 2001 and will
reduce trips from Phelan and Wrightwood to the college.
