Short Term: |
· Provide viable courses in the life sciences for the transfer student interested in majoring in biology or related fields. · Offer a variety of courses (both lab and non-lab) for the non-major student needing a life science course meeting graduation requirements. · Provide the courses required for students entering the allied health/medical fields. · Offer courses in life science that have community interest and are not necessarily designed to lead to a degree but are for self-improvement. · Two full-time instructors replacements for Louise Baartz (deceased 96). · Develop one "smart" classroom for use by the biology department. · Develop a "High Desert" Herbarium to be shared with other biologists throughout the state. · Microscope Replacements (Microbiology & General Biology). |

· Increase FT faculty as required by program growth. · Increase the use of technology and innovative approaches for delivery of courses within the department.
