GOAL #1:   Increase Course Offerings in Philosophy and Religious Studies.
   

Short Term Objectives:  

·     Increase total Philosophy sections per semester by three over Fall ‘97.

·     Increase total Religious Studies sections per semester by 2 over Fall ’97.

·     Add a course in Biomedical Ethics.

·     Add a course in Third World Philosophies.

Long Term Objectives:  

·     Increase total Philosophy sections per semester by three over Fall 2001.

·     Increase total Religious Studies sections by two over Fall 2001.

·     Add course in Business Ethics.

·     Divide Rel Sts 10 into two separate courses.

GOAL #2:   Improve Student Enrollment and Success in Philosophy and Religious Studies Courses.
   

Short Term Objectives:  

·     Offer two 9-week courses each semester.

·     Offer Philosophy 6 as a telecourse.

·     Offer Philosophy 6 and Philosophy 9 as Internet courses.

·     Develop multimedia components for Rel Sts 10 and Rel Sts 15.

·     Provide tutors for Philosophy 6, 7, 9, Rel Sts 10.

·     Increase retention to minimum 60% in all classes, overall average 75%.

·     Grade distribution of no more than 15% A’s and 30% B’s in all classes and sections.

Long Term Objectives:  

·     Offer Philosophy 7 and Philosophy 9 as telecourses.

·     Offer Internet sections of Philosophy 8, Religious Studies 1, 10, 15.

·     Integrate Independent Study components into all lecture classes.
