4.27B.3    Overall Goals For This Cluster

Short Term:  

·     An expansion in the number of sections of physics offered will begin during this period.  This will require an increase in FTE physics instruction, and fiscal support.

Long Term:  

·     During this period physics sections will continue to be increased.

·     The complete program will finally be in effect and will require a further increase in FTE physics instruction, the addition of FTE technical assistance, and fiscal support.

Short Term Objectives:  

·     To begin, in the year 2000, to offer Engineering Physics 1 CHD every academic year.

·     To acquire, and put into place, the equipment necessary to accommodate the increased student population Engineering Physics.

Long Term Objectives:  

·     To begin, in the year 2001, to offer General Physics 2AB every academic year, and two sections of Introductory Physics 10 every fall semester.

·     To acquire, and put into place, the equipment necessary to accommodate the increased student population in General Physics and Introductory Physics.

Resources Required - Short Term:  

Personnel  

·     Add 0.5 FTE physics instructor to begin with fall semester 2000.

·     Funding for new apparatus.
