The English Department at Victor
Valley College is calling all writers to submit
their writing and artwork in the 15th
Annual Writing Contest.
Tim Adell, who is in his
second year as contest coordinator, said the
contest provides "friendly competition" for
all who enter. This year, submissions must
be turned in by March 15. The contest
features five categories: Short Story, Personal
Narrative, Essay, Poetry and Artwork.
Manuscripts will not be returned, but artwork
can be picked up after the winners have been
selected and monetary prizes distributed.

The Associated Student Body is currently accepting applications
from students who wish to represent the students
of Victor Valley College for the 2001-2002
school year. Election/campaign packets as
well as the list of qualifications are available
in the ASB office located upstairs in the
Student Activities Center. The deadline for
returning completed election/campaign packets
is March 16, 2001, to Monica Ortega the ASB
Vice President. Students are encouraged to
become involved in the college student government
and to have their voices heard. Elections
will be held on campus on April 4 and April
5 and the election results will be announced
on April 13, 2001.
