subsequent
loss to Ventura on May 5 eliminated the Rams from
the double elimination tournament, but the solid
showing in the playoffs is something VVC can be
proud of.
"When we don't make mistakes
and play our game, we can hang with anybody,"
said Rams pitcher Tiffin Forbes, who pitched four
innings against the Vikings, giving up two runs
on three hits. "We just had one bad inning."
Making the playoffs wasn't
guaranteed for the Rams. After a quick start,
the Rams fell into a mid-season slump before showing
promise in close losses to top-tier teams in the
Fresno and Cypress tournaments. The Rams played
well when it counted, going over .500 in the conference
despite going 11-21 in non-conference games.

Regional, but even though the Rams dropped the
game 7-1, the contest was far from a blowout.
LBCC scored five runs in the
third inning following a leadoff error, which
proved to be too much for the Rams to overcome.
