     Cole also said that the interest in  SSS is increasing due to the rise in campus enrollment. However, the availability of math and English classes may also have an impact.
     "Of course our students are the best," said Cole with a smile, "but I'm not prejudiced." 
     Student Support Services differs from similar programs in that it is federally funded, while programs such as Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) and Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS) are state funded (and therefore may be affected by the Davis budget plan).
