The following data depicts
Victor Valley College's student statistics for the Summer intercession of
2000. All data
are based upon an overall, unduplicated headcount aggregated on the first
day of first census.
Chart 1 illustrates that
credit students represent 85.3% of the overall student population; whereas,
non-credit
students represent 14.8% of the student population.
Chart 2 reveals that
females account for nearly two-thirds of the student population.
As shown in Chart 3,
the percentage of students in the less than 18 group is nearly double that
found in
the Spring and Fall semesters. The three smallest age groups are 26-30,
51-60 and 60 >. Also of interest,
the average age of students is 31.
Chart 4 depicts that
the percentage of males is greater than females for all age groups less
than 31 years
of age. However, this trend is opposite for those age groups older than
30 years of age.
Chart 5 indicates that
more than half of all enrollments are for day, credit courses.
As shown in Chart 6,
43.5% of students, with 6 or more units attempted, are obtaining a G.P.A.
of 3.0
or better.
As indicated in Chart
7, 45.1% of the female population has earned a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better;
whereas, 40.4%
of the male population has earned a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better.
Chart 8 depicts the various
