EDUCATIONAL
PROGRAMS
Certificate
Programs
A short-term program (usually one to four semesters for full-time
students) in an occupational, technical, or business field.
Certificate programs focus almost exclusively on preparing you
for a specific occupation or area of employment. Few courses
outside of the major field are required. Refer to the College
Catalog for specific requirements. If you have questions or need
assistance you will want to speak with a counselor and visit the
Career Center.
Associate
in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.)
An associate degree is the first college degree you can earn, and
it signifies the completion of 60 semester units of college work
in general education courses (G.E.) and courses required for your
major. Associate in Science degrees are awarded for occupational
and technical majors and the math/science major. The Associate
in Arts degree is awarded for Liberal Arts and Fine Arts majors.
Refer to the College Catalog for a list of associate degree majors.
If you have questions or need assistance you will want to visit
the Counseling Office to talk with a counselor.
Transfer Program
At Victor Valley College you may complete your first two years of
university work required for a bachelor's degree (four-year college
degree) and transfer as a junior to four-year college/university.
You may transfer with or without an associate degree.
If you need help deciding where to transfer or if you need help
understanding transfer requirements, visit the Transfer Center or
the Counseling
Office.
