VALLEY COLLEGE’S THEATRE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS “THE BOYS
NEXT DOOR”
Victor Valley College's Theatre Department
will be presenting Tom Griffin's The Boys Next Door at
Silverado High School October 26, 27 and 28, 2006 at
7:30 and 29 at 2:30. The play focuses on the lives of
four mentally challenged men who live under the supervision
of a young social worker.
The Boys Next Door has moments from the daily lives of
Arnold Wiggins (Mark Dufrenne), Lucien P. Smith (Ralph
Corona), Norman Bulansky (Nicolas Dye) and Barry Klemper
(Derrick Chrisinger) and their young social worker -
Jack Palmer (Eric Ingersoll) where 'little things' sometimes
become momentous and often very funny. These moments
remind us that the mentally challenged want only to love,
laugh and find some meaning and purpose in their lives.
The rest of the cast of The Boys Next Door includes Bethany
Mangum, Angel Cruz, Denice Wolf, and Cameron Patterson.
The play, while very funny and very touching is not recommended
for children. Due to violence, language and subject matter
- children will not be allowed to see the production.
The director - Ed Heaberlin said "This is a wonderful
cast and I am very proud of their work. The audience
will be very moved by their performances. The
students are doing a great job."
