Veteran's Academic Counselor

The Veteran Academic Counselor meets with veterans and dependents of veterans Monday thru Thursday.  The counselor will be located in Building # 44  during the Drop-in appointments, and in Building # 55 during the prescheduled appointments. Stop by the Veteran Service Window # 12 in Building # 52 for further directions.

  • Tuesdays are by appointments only.

To set an appointment you will need to visit building 55 (Counseling Building) and make sure to mention that you are a Veteran. You can also schedule your appointment online.

The Veterans  Academic Counselor prescheduled appointments will be in Building # 55

  • General Drop-In Days and times are:

    •   Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

    •   Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

    •   Thursdays from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

The VA Drop-in Appointments Location is in our New Veterans Resource Center located in Building #44 second floor

Veterans Academic Counselor will NOT be at the VRC the following dates and times:                                                                                    

October 12, 2015            9:00 am  -  10:00 am

October 14, 2015            9:00 am - 11:00 am

November 12, 2015         11:00 am  -  1;00 pm    

December 2, 2015          9:00 am  -  1:00 pm  

December 3, 2015      11:00 am  -  1:00 pm


You will need to bring all transcripts from any other colleges that you may have attended to include your military transcripts for evaluation.


Other Counselors

If you are not available on Tuesday or Wednesday, You can also meet with any Counselor any day of the week by visiting the Counseling Department.  Make sure to mention that you are a Veteran to be able to have a Veteran's Educational Plan prepared,  or you can schedule your appointment online.

GI BILL® Education Plan

The VA requires that GI Bill ® students have a current GI Bill ® Education plan, prepared by a VVC Counselor, in their VA File. The Ed Plan must show the student’s declared program and have all prior credits evaluated. When you make your appointment with a VVC counselor, please indicate that you are a GI Bill ® student, and bring to your appointment copies of any previous college transcripts.
