Spanish

Welcome to Spanish Studies at Victor Valley College.

Spanish is the fourth most widely spoken language in the world. In the Southwest and other parts of the United States, such as southern Florida and New York, it is the first or second language for millions of people.

The ability to communicate in Spanish will provide students with insight into the literature, heritage and diverse cultures of Spain, Mexico, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and important sectors of the United States. The knowledge of the Spanish language for those seeking jobs in the Southern California area and other parts of the Southwest, is advantageous for the fields of teaching, health services, business, child development, law enforcement, social services, and others.

Spanish courses may be used at Victor Valley College to fulfill requirements for an Associate in Arts degree with a major in Liberal Arts. The courses also provide background and transfer credit when the student moves on to other educational institutions.
