2017 ACCJC Visiting Team
Accreditation is Reaffirmed!

On June 23, 2017, the ACCJC contacted Dr. Roger Wagner, the Superintendent/President of the Victor Valley Community College District, and informed him that our accreditation had been reaffirmed for 18 months, and that a follow-up report is due in October of 2018.
In a congratulatory email message to the entire campus, Dr. Wagner stated, "I want to congratulate everyone who had a hand in completing the self-evaluation and working with the visiting team. The fact is everyone of you had a hand in the accreditation process, my thanks to the entire campus community!"

Self-Evaluation Visit
On March 6-9, 2017, VVC underwent a comprehensive review from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). The review was based on the College's self-evaluation of how well it meets ACCJC's standards as well as numerous team interviews and evaluation of evidence. At the end of the review period, the College received a verbal, public report of the team's immediate findings. The final evaluation of the College, including ACCJC's recommendations for accreditation, has been received as of June 23, 2017. The letter and Evaluation Report have been received and are published above for your review.
Self-Evaluation Writing Process
In order to evaluate itself against the ACCJC standards, the College began a formal review process. The permanent Accreditation Steering Committee (ASC) was formed and consists of all groups — faculty, classified, confidential, managers and students. Standards Writing Teams began their work with review of the ACCJC standards and collection of evidence through interviews and document review to support the College's achievements toward meeting the standards. This 2017 Self-Evaluation Report is the culmination of the collaborative work done by the writing teams.
