Deanna M. Sanabria
I was inducted as a Phi Theta Kappa member in 1998 and my life turned a corner. Prior to becoming involved, I was simply a busy working mom who was going to school. Becoming involved in Phi Theta Kappa added that extra special something in my academic career. I was encouraged to go beyond what I had done and try new things and have new experiences. I always look to those times with the very fondest of memories.
Phi Theta Kappa is based on four cornerstones: Fellowship, Leadership, Service and Scholarship. These cornerstones build a strong foundation that reaches beyond my academics into my professional and personal life and are very rewarding. The opportunities provided to me as a member and student have been tremendous.
It has been an honor to serve as an advisor for the past eleven years. As each year passes, I continue to be energized by the students that choose to become members but especially by those who take on the challenge of becoming active members and officers. I encourage each member to take a step forward and learn, make friends, serve your school and community as well as gain invaluable leadership skills.
