CSUGE-Breadth Certification
The CSUGE-Breadth certification can be awarded to community college students who complete lower-division general education requirements for the California State University (CSU) system. Some private and out-of-state colleges and universities will accept the completed CSUGE-Breadth to meet their lower-division general education requirements. Although the certification recognizes the completion of lower-division CSU general education requirements, it does not guarantee admission to a specific campus or major within the CSU system.
Students are strongly advised to meet with a counselor to discuss their fulfillment of CSUGE-Breadth requirements.
To apply for the CSUGE-Breadth Certification, complete:
Application for CSUGE/IGETC and select "CSUGE for CSU"

IGETC Certification for UC or CSU
The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) is a general education pattern that community college students may use to fulfill lower-division general education requirements in either the UC or the CSU system. Some private and out-of-state colleges and universities will accept the completed IGETC to meet their lower-division general education requirements. Completion of IGETC does NOT guarantee admission, nor is it required for admission. (All courses must be completed with a “C” or better.)
Victor Valley College offers certification for IGETC for UC and IGETC for CSU. Students are strongly advised to meet with a counselor to discuss their fulfillment of IGETC requirements.
