 About Us

The Maintenance & Operations Department is made up of five divisions:

  1. Maintenance
  2. Grounds
  3. Custodial
  4. Warehouse
  5. Transportation

📅 Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Our Office is located in Building 90: See Map 

We handle:

  • Work order processing
  • Emergency dispatching
  • Keys & proximity cards
  • Rental vehicles
  • Vendor Coordination

Requests for outside office hours can be made 24 hours in advance and will be accommodated as staff availability allows.

Our Divisions

🔧 Maintenance Division

Repairs and renovates over 500,000 sq. ft. of campus spaces including classrooms, offices, and public areas. They also:

  • Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, water & sewer mains
  • Service vehicles, golf carts, and grounds equipment
  • Oversee heating, cooling, and the Central Plant

🌳 Grounds Division

Cares for the college’s 250-acre campus, including:

  • Over 100 acres of lawns and vegetation
  • Irrigation systems
  • Trees, shrubs, and athletic fields
  • Little League fields and weed control

🧹 Custodial Division

Keeps over 500,000 sq. ft. of space clean every day by:

  • Servicing restrooms
  • Vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing
  • Setting up for large events
  • Emptying trash and handling special cleaning requests

📦 Warehouse Division - Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Manages campus logistics, including:

  • Shipping & receiving
  • Mail pickup and delivery
  • Asset inventory & furniture
  • Supplies distribution
  • Assisting with moves and office setups

🚐 Transportation Division

Provides safe, reliable transportation for district needs, including:

  • College trips
  • Field studies
  • Athletic events
  • Outreach & recruitment events
  • Staff conferences and training

  • All drivers will be required to agree to and sign a copy of the VVC Driver Requirements prior to operating a District Vehicle.

  • All student travel must be cleared by Risk Management.
