Biography
Mike has been an Automotive Instructor for Victor Valley College since 1999. In that time he has taught many Auto classes including, Tune-up and Emissions, Engine Performance, Automotive Electronics and Computers, Basic Auto for consumers, and currently is teaching Auto-50 an Introduction to Automotive Technology.
Mike has been in the Automotive Industry for over 35 years. After graduating from Apple Valley High School in 1975 he was off to trade school at Arizona Automotive Institute. He returned to California and started his career as an automotive technician and licensed Smog Check technician having his first Smog Check License and ASE certifications in 1976.
Mike has full time employment with the Bureau of Automotive Repair as a Program Representative assigned to the Technical Training Department. His job duties include the development and presentation of training classes; evaluating BAR staff training needs; monitoring the effectiveness of current training programs and providing analysis on the programs contribution to the Bureau’s performance goals and objectives relating to customer satisfaction, work quality, productivity and efficiency.
He has conducted Subject Matter Expert focus groups for the BAR Training and Compliance Branch to develop new standards for the certification process of Bureau of Automotive Repair Certified Training Instructors.
Mike is a certified by the Bureau of Automotive Repair as a Smog Check Technician, Brake and Lamp Installer and as a Clean Air Car Course Instructor. Current credentials (degrees, instructor certifications, other certifications, licenses, teaching credentials, etc) include:
