Victor Valley College Board of Trustees
Public Hearing Two on Redistricting, Tue. November 30, 2021, 5pm
Victor Valley Community College District (VVCCD) holds second public hearing on Redistricting Draft Maps for Stakeholder Input

Victor Valley College Board of Trustees will hold a series of public hearings to begin the process of redrawing trustee area lines and is inviting all interested parties to participate. The second public hearing takes place on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 5pm. The Meeting will be held on the 2nd floor in the VVC Student Activities Center, Building 44.

Governing Boards of community college districts are required, by the end of February 2022, to adjust the boundaries of any or all of the trustee areas by using census population figures from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Census Bureau decennial census of the country’s population conducted in 2020 and validated by the Population Research Unit of the California Department of Finance. Any district in which governing board members are elected by trustee area is subject to mandatory redistricting pursuant to Education Code 5019.5.1. Lines must be redrawn to adjust for population changes that have occurred since the last redistricting to ensure that each trustee area has equal population to maintain “one-person, one-vote.”

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to participate by providing public comments at the public hearing meetings.
