Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) - up to $8000 more

The Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) is a financial aid program that encourages community college students to enroll FULL-TIME by offering up to $8,000 in financial aid, so they can work less, focus on classes more, and graduate, begin careers and start earning money as soon as possible. With SSCG, the more classes you take, the more money you’re eligible to receive!

Dream future, here you come!

AM I ELIGIBLE?

Victor Valley College students are eligible for the Student Success Completion Grant if they:
  1. Enroll in 12 or more units per semester (and with 15 or more units they get additional aid)
  2. Complete a FAFSA or CADAA and are awarded a Cal Grant B or C, as determined by California State Aid Commission (CSAC)-VVC does not decide who is eligible for Cal Grant
  3. Maintain satisfactory academic progress requirements, including a 2.0 GPA or higher
Students will be notified if they are eligible and are awarded the Student Success Completion Grant as part of the financial aid application process.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

This grant provides an additional annual award! The award amounts are as follows:

12 – 14.99 units - $ 1,298 per semester**

15+ units - $4,000 per semester**

This means if you are enrolled in 12 units, you could receive much more financial aid (more than 3x the amount) if you take just one more 3-unit class in the semester to receive the most money possible and earn your degree in two years. You’ve got this!

**Award amounts may vary depending on cost of attendance, remaining need available, and/or availability of funding (it does run out!).

HOW DO I APPLY?

Just complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) and our financial aid office will determine your eligibility and automatically award you this grant. The FAFSA form and CADAA are available beginning October 1 each year. Be sure to complete the forms as soon as possible (but no later than the April 2 Cal Grant deadline) to receive the most aid possible.

If you’ve already completed the FAFSA or CADAA, your application form will be reviewed and you will receive the Student Success Completion Grant if you are eligible, so there is no need to re-apply.
