Welcome to the Writing Center!

About Us:

The Writing Center is here to guide and empower you through any stage of the writing and reading process.  We provide suggestions on larger, global issues such as thesis, clarity, organization, and content, but we won't fix your grammar, spelling, or punctuation. We will, however, help you find and fix those small, local issues yourself. For more information about the Writing Center, contact us at (760) 245-4271 ext. 2607.

Hours: 9-7 M-TH, 9-4 F.

Location: ATC 21-143 and online through Canvas.

Appointment Tutoring:

The Writing Center is now taking appointments for remote tutorials! Tutorials are 25 minutes long and held on Zoom. Appointments can be made up to a maximum of 14 days and a minimum of 48 hours in advance.

Pisces Online Paper Drop-Off:

The Writing Center also offers drop-off online tutoring so you can drop off your questions, a paragraph, or an essay to one of our tutors. We will try to respond to your e-mail within 24-48 hours during weekdays. Please allow additional time for weekend requests, remembering that we are closed on Fridays and won't be back online until Monday.

Directed Learning Activities (DLAs) are faculty-designed exercises that provide students support in key writing and reading concepts. They require a short time limit to complete and require a follow-up session with a tutor after completion.
