Welcome to Victor Valley College! A lot like yourself, I am the product of the community college system and my education motto is: “Never give up!”. It took me over 10 years to get my bachelor's degree, so if I can do it, anyone can! After receiving my bachelor's degree, I still didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up, so I continued my education, and it continues on today!! I teach courses in Biotechnology, and it is an ever-changing field! I encourage you to take advantage of the community college & get to know your professors at this level. Best of Luck in whatever you decide to pursue! M.Ricci

Personal:
A native of the Midwest (Wisconsin Badger country), my husband and I moved west for a new way of life in the mid 80's. After living in the L.A. area (La Mirada) for 8 years, we moved back to Madison to make sure we didn't want to live in the cold. At the first chance, we moved back to California where I worked in the Biotechnology industry. After experiencing the cost of San Diego living, we relocated to the High Desert to begin my teaching career. I've always wanted to share my professional experiences with students and hopefully encourage some of them to pursue a laboratory career. I've worked in the laboratory setting all through my college years, but even better than working in a lab is teaching others about the many professions available in the laboratory setting. I hope to accomplish that now by coordinating the new Biotechnology / Lab Tech program at Victor Valley College.
My family of five includes my husband, Mark and three busy kids: Amanda (7) A.J. (6) and the baby Alex (2), not to forget our dog Harley! Although living in the desert is different than La Jolla, we're happy to finally settle down and raise our family here in Apple Valley!
