ASB COUNCIL MEMBERS (Profiles, Pictures, etc.)

I'tavia Peters
Hey I'm Tay =} I started attending VVC in spring of 2010. I initially got accepted into the University of Colorado in their early nursing program, but unfortually to my personal life and difficult situations I've placed myself into I wasn't able to attend the school of my choice.
By fall of 2009 I graduated from a trade school and became a Medical Assistance with two certifications (Alcohol &Drug testing and Hair& follicle testing). Even though I enjoined working in my field of study I wasn't satisfied, and my mother suggested that I continue with school it'll I felt comfortable with myself.
Once I returned in the fall semester of 2011 as a full time student, I automatically involve myself in school activities and become a student trainer for football and both men's & women's basketball I became well know by the student athletes. I joined ASB not knowing the requirements or advantages they had established to their officers, I only knew that I wanted to make a difference in the students college experiences. And mainly exposé our Ram Athletes to their student body not because the needed the attention but because everyone needed to know how dedicated, commited, how loyal they are to VVC, and of course how athletic &skilled they are. By repersenting the athletes as their Athletic Senator I am quite honored. Since high school I've always been behind the scenes making sure our athletes were taken care of and had the nutriment prior to game time. Now that I'm in college I will do the same and I have my other Senators to back me up and fully complete the goals set forth for VVC's a"Athletic Department.
Joining ASB as been a wonderful expericence, it has opened my eyes to information I've wouldof never consider to think about nor make an effort to change. Everyone person I've meet from the working students to the faculty members have given me great advice to succeed or to accept a lost and reverse the situation into a learning opportunity. I knew I had a void in my life, I wanted more, I wanted to feel important to a larger cause, and to put leadership skill to good use. ASB accomplished all of that and more. Ive acquired new friends and connections through them, a new outlook on my life, and most of all a dramatic change in student climate.
That's my story, I hope you enjoyed it =}
