Experience biology in Malaysia

areas along the lower Kinabatangan River, the montane diversity surrounding 13,000-foot-high Mount Kinabalu, in the Temburong District of Brunei, on Pulau Pinang off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, and on Pulau Tioman in the South China Sea. Participants will also be able to see tropical reefs surrounding some of the smaller continental shelf islands. An emphasis will be placed on amphibians and reptiles and their adaptations to life in the tropical forest, as an example for the high diversity of animals in these forests.
Before departure in early January, students will attend 15 hours of mandatory evening classes (5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7).
