Located in Building 52, Student Services I, within the Financial Aid Department

Veterans and *Eligible Dependents please visit the following website: http://vabenefits.vba.va.gov/vonapp/main.asp to complete an application for GI Bill Benefits. If you are already approved for benefits you should bring a copy of your award letter to the
Financial Aid Office (FAO) and let us know that you are interested in using your benefits at Victor Valley College (VVC).

GI Bill students must inform the FAO once they have enrolled for each semester so they can be certified with the VA (Certifications are not automatic).

Students can not receive benefits for repeating a course that was previously completed successfully. Grades necessary for "successful completion" are defined by a "D" for non-transfer or non-prerequisite classes and by a "C" for transfer or prerequisite classes as outlined in the VVC catalog.

Students assume full liability for overpayments of benefits. To avoid this, students must report any class adjustments to the FAO.

As required by the V.A., GI Bill students must have a current education plan in their VA file. New GI Bill students have until the end of their second semester to get their educational plan. Students that are changing their school of certification have one semester before the educational plan is required. The education plan must show the student's declared program and have all prior credits evaluated. The Certifying Officials can only submit classes listed on the current Educational Plan to Veterans Affairs for processing/payments. It is up to the students to update/follow their educational plan.

GI Bill students must follow the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy. This policy requires that students maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and complete at least 67% of all units attempted. Please see SAP for further detailed information.
Active duty military may be eligible for Tuition Assistance (TA) from their respective branch of service. Contact your base/post education office for TA forms and additional information.
Dependents of veterans with a 0% or greater disability from the VA may be eligible for a tuition and fee waiver. Parents should contact the County V.A. office for further details and how to
apply.

*Dependents of veterans who are deemed 100% disabled (or deceased) from a service-connected cause may be eligible for GI Bill benefits under Chapter 35.
