"Working together for student success."
**Attention New and Returning VVC Students**
Since Fall 2014 to present, every new and returning student to VVC must complete the following steps in order to be assigned a priority registration date:
Assessment (if assessment was taken at another college proof must be submitted to Admissions and Records - Bldg. 52)
Orientation (online or in-person)
Educational Plan (with a counselor)
For more information about the new priority registration policy at California Community Colleges, visit the Step: Forward priority registration website launched by the California Community College's Chancellor's Office.

Counseling and Administration (Building 55 - Over the lake)
Fall/Spring: Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on Fridays)
After you have completed your admissions application, new student orientation (online or in-person), and assessment test you will be able to schedule a counseling appointment online (summer appointments are scheduled daily in person in Bldg. 55 on a first-come, first-served walk-in basis; appointments are not scheduled online during the summer). Due to high student enrollment and demand for counseling services, it may take a few attempts before you are able to obtain an appointment. The best days to schedule appointments are on Mondays. If you are having trouble scheduling an appointment, stop by the Counseling and Administration office in Building 55. Appointments with counselors are available from 8:30 a.m to 6:30 p.m. between Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 on Fridays. Each day there are a limited number of counseling appointments offered on a first-come, first served walk-in basis. If you are a continuing student, you are not required to meet with a counselor before signing up for your classes. If you are a new or returning student you are highly encouraged to complete your New Student Orientation (online) where you will receive important information on the various resources and services that are provided at VVC prior to making a counseling appointment.
