To ensure our students are accomplishing their goals per their education plan, the Math Department strives to ensure that students are completing the proper courses necessary to achieve their goals, whether it be a certificate, degree, or to transfer.
Part of the SAM Grant initiatives were to ensure proper placement and successful completion of math courses per major requirements. Thus, the Math Pathways, divided into two paths, STEM and Non-STEM, was developed.
The following lists of majors are intended to help you determine which math pathway you should take. While this list is not all-inclusive, it should help you to determine your pathway. If your major of interest is not listed, look for related majors in the lists.
You are strongly encouraged to research specific majors at specific colleges/universities, as requirements may vary. If you have questions, please seek out the advice of a counselor or the Transfer Center.
Math Pathways
*These majors may have special circumstances based on the college/university you transfer to, as well as how far in the discipline you intend to study. Please consult a counselor of the Transfer Center for further direction.
