Applications for following academies will be made available approximately six (6) months prior to academy start date. Applications are due at the specified times below for each Track

Applications for the 12-month, traditional program beginning in January of the Winter session will be made available the first week of June via the internet ONLY (Paramedic Home Page). Closing date / time will be clearly published on the application button.

Applications for the 9.5-month, accelerated, hybrid program beginning in January of the Winter session will be made available the third week of July via the internet ONLY (Paramedic Home Page). Closing date / time will be clearly published on the application button.

Applications for the 12 month, traditional programs beginning in June of the Summer session will be made available the first week of January via the internet ONLY (Paramedic Home Page).Closing date / time will be clearly published on the application button.

  • Applications must include all of the following:

    • Completed Admission Application

    • Work Experience Letter verifying 6 months full-time or 1000 hours part-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience. ISSUED BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE AGENCY OR DEPARTMENT, ON A DEPARTMENT LETTERHEAD AND SIGNED & DATED WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS.

    • Copy of any and all college transcripts (unofficial) showing completed and/or in-progress coursework.

    • Two Letters of Recommendation Different from work experience letter. BOTH MUST BE DATED & SIGNED WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS.

    • Copy of  current / valid EMT Card

    • Copy of current / valid BLS Healthcare Provider CPR Card

    • Copy of High School Diploma

  • Not required when submitting application, but must be provided during didactic phase (before clinical / field).
    • Copy of negative TB test or chest x-ray within last 12 months

    • Copy of Hepatitis B immunization or titer showing immunity; either within last 5 years

    • Copy of Rubella immunization or titer showing immunity; either within last 5 years

    • Proof of Varicella (Chicken Pox) immunization or copy of Varicella titer showing immunity; both within the last 5 years

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. APPLICATIONS VIA US MAIL OR HAND DELIVERED WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

EMT Examination

Upon the closure of the application period all applications will be screened for completeness and accuracy. The applicant will then be notified regarding the date / time and procedure for the EMT written examination process. The EMT examination will cover the current EMT National Standard Curriculum / National Education Standards. This process should begin immediately following the application process. Faculty will determine the cut score based upon the size and performance of the applicant pool.

Oral / Panel Interview

Upon successful completion of the EMT examination process students will be notified by e-mail of eligibility for admission to the oral / panel interview. Applicants must successfully pass the oral / panel Interview for admission to the Paramedic Academy.·

March/April for June start (12 month,Traditional Program)
October/November for January start (12 month, Traditional & Accelerated Program)

Admission Notification

Admission will be granted based on a cumulative scoring system. A point system will be utilized for objective screening of all applicants. Admission letters will be notified by e-mail approximately one (1) week after completion of the Oral/Panel Interviews.
