Victor Valley College is proud to announce an exclusive Summer Honor Band!
Applicants selected to participate in the VVC Honor Band will work with current Director of Bands, Dr. Joshua Phillips, and special guest conductor Dr. Mitch Fennell. Participants will rehearse to prepare a concert of challenging music featuring works by Katahj Copley, James Reese Europe, Michele Fernandez, Brian Balmages, Robert Sheldon, and Frank Ticheli. The Concert on June 27th will be shared with the Orange County Clarinet Consort, a premiere Clarinet Ensemble based in Southern California.

All applications for consideration are due no later than June 1st.
Attendance to all rehearsals and concert are mandatory.

Dress Rehearsal and Concert: (located in the VVC Performing Arts Center, Building 54)
Thursday, June 27th, 4-6pm (Dinner will be provided for participants)
Thursday, June 27th, 7:30pm, Concert – Free Admission
Who Can Apply:
Any students in Grades 9-12 enrolled in a music program, recently graduated high school students, and currently enrolled VVC students.
Audition Requirements:
- Two Major Scales, two octaves (one scale slow and legato; the other scale fast and staccato)
- 1-2 minutes of an excerpt of your choice from any band or solo repertoire

All audition recordings must be uploaded via YouTube. Privacy settings must be set to “Public” or “Unlisted” in order to be viewed. “Private” will not work as it is password protected.
