Psi Beta, National Honors Society in Psychology

Club Description:

Welcome to Psi Beta, National Honors Society in Psychology at Victor Valley College.

We are a student-run organization dedicated to fostering a greater awareness and understanding of psychology—its origins, applications, and impact on everyday life. As part of our mission, we proudly support Psi Beta, the National Honor Society in Psychology for community colleges, which recognizes academic excellence and encourages professional development in the field.

Our goal is to challenge students to grow as individuals, engage in meaningful discussions, and apply psychological concepts to better understand themselves and the world around them. We provide opportunities for student interaction, networking, and mentorship, along with resources on topics relevant to psychology majors and those simply interested in the field.

Whether you're looking to enhance your academic experience, connect with like-minded peers, or explore opportunities for research and leadership, we are here to support you. Join us and be part of a community that values curiosity, scholarship, and service in psychology!

Requirements:

  • 3.25 GPA.
  • Have completed 12 units of college coursework 
  • Completed at least one college-level psychology course with a grade of "B" or higher
  • One-Time fee of $55 paid directly to the Psi Beta national council, (EOPS/Financial Aid may help assist).

PsiSquared (Ψ²)Statistics

Club Description:

PsiSquared (Ψ²) Statistics is a student-led club at Victor Valley College dedicated to uncovering the fun, approachable side of statistics in psychology. Our mission is to spark curiosity, boost confidence in working with data, and create a welcoming environment where students can explore statistical concepts in a relaxed, engaging way. We aim to connect classroom learning to real-world applications, helping members see the value and relevance of stats in everyday life and future careers. Whether you're math-shy or data-savvy, PsiSquared Statistics offers a low-pressure, community-driven space to learn, share, and grow together.

What Students Can Expect from PsiSquared (Ψ²) Statistics:

  • Casual Meetups: No tests, no pressure—just drop-in sessions to ask questions, share tips, or hang out and talk psych-stats with some snacks. 
  • Hands-On Mini Lessons: Quick workshops on useful tools like SPSS, graphing in Excel, or understanding a p-value (in plain English).
  • Fun Themes & Games: Stats memes, data-themed movie screenings, and lighthearted challenges.
  • Peer Support: A judgment-free space to talk through homework, projects, or class struggles with fellow students.
  • Real-World Connections: Occasional guests or alumni sharing how stats play a role in fields like mental health, counseling, social work, or research.
  • Optional Club Project: A group survey or data collection activity (like stress levels during finals), presented in a fun, visual format at the end of the semester.
