The Victor Valley College CARE Team exists to foster student success, promote wellbeing, and maintain a safe learning environment through proactive identification, compassionate assessment, and coordinated support.

Identify and respond to concerns early to reduce escalation and harm.

Normalize Reporting as an Act of Care
Encourage faculty, staff, and students to report concerns without fear of stigma or punishment.

Provide Coordinated Case Management
Ensure concerns are reviewed, documented, prioritized, and followed through consistently.

Deliver Holistic, Individualized Support
Address academic, behavioral, mental health, and basic needs barriers.

Balance Support and Accountability
Emphasize supportive interventions first, with conduct processes used when policy violations occur.

Strengthen Campus Capacity Through Training
Equip the campus community to recognize red flag behaviors and respond with empathy.
The team comprises representatives from across campus to ensure relevant expertise is available for a wide range of potential concerns.

| FERPA allows Victor Valley College faculty and staff to share information about student behavior and concerns with VVC personnel who have responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of students and/or the campus community. Student privacy should be carefully considered before sharing information beyond what is necessary to fulfill these responsibilities. |
