Zoom Room scheduling can be tricky because you need to schedule it more as a person than a location. This short video walks you through the best process for making sure a Zoom Room is available and ready for you to use.
Scheduling Zoom Rooms in Desktop Zoom (2:01)
Transcript:
Hi everyone! I have learned the hard way that there are good ways to schedule a zoom room and bad ways to schedule a zoom room, so I'm going to walk you through the process that I think will be the most successful for you, any time you want to schedule something with a Zoom room specifically. So the first thing to note is that I am in Zoom Workplace, which is the desktop Zoom, not the browser. So make sure you're in the desktop Zoom and then you're going to come up here. Now I have mine with my calendar set already. If yours isn't showing, you can go to this more. It may be in here, but you should have it in your desktop. Go ahead and click on calendar. And then let's say that I want to schedule something for 815 to 845. I will put it here and it pops up. And like you are probably familiar with, there's a more options button. And this one is key because when you go to the "More options" button, you do not want to set the Zoom room as your location. What you actually want to do is treat it like it's a human that you are inviting. So notice over here there's attendees and one of those options is rooms. So what you can do this is already set up with rooms that are our Zoom rooms and so you can choose whichever one you want. You can click on it and then it will be scheduled. I'm not actually going to hit the send button, but it will basically send a little message to ask whether that room is available, and it will schedule it in as a person, as a participant, rather than as a location. So avoid setting it as a location. Use the desktop Zoom to come into rooms and schedule it from there. Hopefully you find that all easy, but if you've got any challenges, don't hesitate to reach out.
