Adult Home Economics

The Adult Home Economics (AHOM) program is for students interested in learning to sew, make clothing, quilt, knit, crochet, do needlepoint and other related areas.

 

The Adult Home Economics Program offers two Certificates of Completion:

   Apparel Construction

  • AHOM 020:Beginning Clothing Construction
  • AHOM 020.1: Intermediate Clothing Construction

   Textile Measurement and Production

  • AHOM 075: Machine Quilting l
  • AHOM 075.1: Machine Quilting ll

 

Courses offered in the Adult Home Economics Program include:

  • AHOM 020 – Beginning Clothing Construction

Teaches basic sewing skills and equipment use

  • AHOM 020.1 – Intermediate Clothing Construction

Teaches more advanced pattern techniques for those who have basic sewing knowledge

  • AHOM 010 – Advanced Clothing Construction

For those who have sewing experience and are ready to progress into using specialty fabrics and want to learn fitting and tailoring techniques

  • AHOM 019 – Fundamentals of Sewing

An abbreviated beginning class that teaches techniques while making small projects; also for those ready to progress into more intermediate techniques

  • AHOM 060 – Needlecraft and Design

Specializing in basic to advanced stitches for knitting, crochet, needle point, and cross stitch.  For all skill levels

  • AHOM 075 – Machine Quilting l

Beginning lass to teach quilting techniques by machine

  • AHOM 075.1 – Machine Quilting ll
