CSU Transfer Admission Requirements

CSU Minimum Admission Requirements

Completion of Golden Four Requirements
Must earn a grade of "C" or higher in each course:

  • A1: Oral Communication
  • A2: Written Communication
  • A3: Critical Thinking
  • B4: Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning

Completion of 60-CSU Transferrable Units
To apply as a junior-level transfer applicant, students should complete a minimum of 60 semester CSU-transferrable units with at least a 2.0 GPA.

However, some campuses and/or majors may require a higher CSU-transferrable GPA for admission selection due to competitive or highly impacted campuses/programs. Earning a higher GPA can help you be a more competitive applicant.

Required/Recommended Courses for Your Desired Major
To prepare for your desired major at any of the twenty-three undergraduate CSU campuses, students should complete lower-division major preparation coursework prior to transferring. Meet with a counselor to develop your transfer plan.
