UC TAG

Six UC campuses offer a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) for California community college students who meet specific requirements. TAG is an agreement that lets you secure guaranteed admission to a participating UC campus, as long as you complete the required coursework and GPA by the deadline.

Each UC campus has its own TAG criteria. Requirements may include a minimum GPA, major preparation courses, general education patterns, and a specific number of transferable units.

By submitting a TAG application, you gain important advantages:

  • Early review of your academic progress
  • Early admission notification
  • Clear guidance on the major preparation and general education courses you must complete
Explore participating UC campuses and their specific requirements:

Note: Berkeley, UCLA, and San Diego do not participate in TAG.

Check out the TAG matrix for a full list of the campuses and their individual requirements.

Steps to Apply:
  1. Decide which of six participating UC's you want to TAG (You can only TAG to one campus). Review the TAG Matrix for a full list of participating campuses, programs, and individual requirements.
  2. Create a Transfer Admission Planner (UC TAP) Account to begin your TAG and admission applications. Deadline to submit your UC TAG Application is September 30th.
  3. Complete your remaining coursework and meet the GPA requirements in your TAG agreement.
  4. Submit your UC admission application by November 30th.
