Program Review at Victor Valley College
he Program Review, Allocation, and Institutional Strategies for Excellence (PRAISE) process at Victor Valley College is an ongoing, collaborative process completed annually to support continuous improvement, institutional effectiveness, and student success. Through Program Review, programs reflect on their accomplishments, review enrollment and student achievement data, assess Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), identify opportunities for growth, and plan for the future.
PRAISE follows a four-year cycle, with each year building upon the previous year: Year 1 – Comprehensive Program Review, Year 2 – Annual Update, Year 3 – Annual Update, and Year 4 – Close the Loop. Throughout the cycle, programs identify goals, monitor progress, address needs and priorities, and request resources when appropriate. The PRAISE process helps inform college-wide planning and resource allocation for instructional and Non-Instructional programs while connecting program goals with the mission and strategic direction of Victor Valley College. Most importantly, it provides programs with an opportunity to reflect, plan, collaborate, and strengthen the educational and support experiences we provide to our students and community.
