On-Campus: VVC Child Development Center Lab
VVC runs a state-licensed child development center right on campus in Building 12. Priority goes to low-income families and VVC students. It's funded through the California State Preschool Program (CSPP) and State General funds (CCTR), so for most families it's free or low-cost based on income and other factors. Set up a tour today.
Quick facts:
• Ages: 3 to 4 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Meals and developmental screenings included
• Health requirements: up-to-date immunizations, TB clearance, and a completed physical form
• Documents to bring when you apply: proof of address, proof of income, birth certificates for every child in your household, and current immunization records

CalWORKs Child Care
If receive CalWORKs, the state will help pay for childcare for kids from birth through age 12 while you go to school or work. Apply for CalWORKs at BenefitsCal.com.
Head Start & Early Head Start
Free childcare and preschool for kids from birth to age 5 in low-income families. Includes health screenings and family support. Find a local provider at headstartca.org.
California State Preschool Program (CSPP)
Free or low-cost preschool for income-eligible 3- and 4-year-olds. The VVC CDL is one of these programs, and because it's also funded by CCTR (State General funds), it can serve children as young as 18 months. Other CSPP providers run through local school districts.
